UCR Summer Seminar on Clinical Biostatistics 2008

(Design of Clinical Trials in Dermatologic and Plastic Surgery)

Tentative Schedule

Saturday June 14, 8:30 AM to 9:30/10:00 AM Lets meet in the Mission Inn restaurant for coffee.

Introductions, exchange contact information and discuss the following:

¥Anything Seminar Participants would like to present or discuss

¥ Plans for the summer seminar including the four clinical trials we will design which possibly will include some novel web-based applications.

¥ The text book Clinical Trials ( I have 8 copies to give out)

¥ www.clinicaltrials101.com , a website that we can develop dedicated to the seminar and which we might develop into a resource for clinicians interested small or modular clinical trials.

Details of the four protocols will be published on this site. And as we develop and fine tune the protocols, updated versions can be posted and be available for anyone to comment on, criticize or suggest improvements. Can we list the UCR Statistical Consultancy contact info on this website?

¥ The review and critiques of articles in the journal Dermatologic Surgery and possibly in a plastic surgery journal. We might assign the 5th and 6th grad students to be in charge of the review of the articles in one of these journals. By the way, the editor of Dermatologic Surgery has agreed to provide us with 12 copies of each of each issue of its 2008 journals and to arrange for our seminar participants to have free access to the online journal.

Saturday June 21, 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, I would suggest that our agenda include
